In 1994 I sang in a kick ass English rock band called Levitation.

Letting this gravid wolf snake go at the base of a mountain chain in Krabi, Thailand. Great snakes, biters, rear fanged and basically harmless to humans. These are common in southern Thailand.

My focus on this is horrible... I was using a 1.8F stop - by accident. Sorry about that.

Found a mangrove cat snake on this herping field trip from here in Thailand.

These are great snakes, they never bite and their mouths are too small to really bite anyway. They are rear fanged and have some venom, but not enough to hurt human beings. They prefer damp ground for easy digging, and can be found in water too. They eat other snakes, worms, eels, ant eggs and termite eggs.

This is a juvenile red-tailed pipe snake. They lose the orange stripes on the back as they get older. The back is then solid, shiny black. The bottom (belly) stays that strange black and white checker-flag pattern. The underside tip of the tail is red into adulthood. When threatened, like a coral snake they flip up the red tip of the tail and flatten themselves out almost like a cobra hooding.

Awesome little snakes. They get to 1 meter in adulthood.and almost as thick as a golf ball.

We'll let this one go back where it was caught. There must be more babies around there too - we're in the right season for finding juvenile / hatchling snakes.
