1. OnePlus 7 Pro used by the pro photographer - The Chinese premium smartphone company OnePlus is going gung ho about the OnePlus 7 series launch on May 14. Previously the company collaborated with the world’s leading internet entertainment service, Netflix, partnered to release two posters of the upcoming second season of Sacred Games original series besides being used to shoot the covers for Harper’s Bazaar and GQ magazines. And now the company has also revealed the cover of the iconic Nat Geo magazine’s US edition which is a beautiful North American vista has been shot on the OnePlus 7 Pro and it demonstrates the camera capabilities of the upcoming device.


2. Motorola One Vision with 21:9 display - About a month ago we came to know about the existence of Moto One Vision smartphone courtesy to an ARCore support update. This comes almost half a year after the launch of the Motorola One Power, it looks like Motorola is working on yet another Android One smartphone. According to new information from WinFuture, the yet-to-be-launched smartphone dubbed Motorola ‘Vision’ will come with an Exynos chipset, a rather tall 21:9 ratio display, and a huge 48-megapixel camera sensor.


3. Xiaomi Redmi flagship with Snapdragon 855 - This year’s Google I/O 2019 was an extensive affair with multiple announcements. And the one that topped the was the announcement of the new Android OS version and the list of devices that will be getting the Android Q beta support which has been increased to 21 devices from 13 different brands. Under the Xiaomi brand, both Mi 9 and Mi Mix 3 5G have been touted to get the Android Q Beta. 4. 2019 iPhone XR To Be Offered In Two New Colour - California based, Apple is expected to launch its latest smartphones in the month of September this year. Like yesteryear, the company is expected to launch three handsets which will succeed the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. The two upcoming flagship grade smartphones are assumed to carry the iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max moniker, while the name for the more affordable 2019 iPhone is unknown as of now. Earlier this month the renders of the less feature-rich, 2019 iPhone XR were shared on Twitter which revealed its design from all angles. A piece of fresh news concerning the handset has surfaced online.


5. Tinder preps 'Lite' version of its dating app for data-limited areas - Add Tinder to the growing list of tech giants launching lightweight apps to reel in more users. As part of an earnings call, Match Group divulged plans for a Tinder Lite app that would be smaller and better suited to the area where cellular data "comes at a premium." CEO Mandy Ginsberg made no mention of features or release date (other than "soon"), but did point to Southeast Asia as a high priority when there's an influx of young people into packed cities.
As with other lightweight apps and scaled-back operating systems like Android Go, this is really about maintaining the growth that might otherwise taper off. Although Tinder is still growing at a solid pace (its paid subscribers jumped 38 percent year-over-year in early 2019), it knows those numbers won't last forever. A Tinder Lite app would give it access to millions of people who have only basic smartphones, limited access to data or both. Even if only a fraction of those newcomers signs up, that's a large potential expansion.

1. OnePlus 7 Pro - OnePlus recently launched its next-generation flagships OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in India. However, while announced together, OnePlus kept the release of the more affordable OnePlus for next month to give the Pro variant a leeway to establish. It seems that the gamble paid off for the brand as Amazon India has now announced that within a week of its launch, the OnePlus 7 Pro has become the fastest selling high-end smartphone.


2. WhatsApp beta update - Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp keeps trying new features out through its Beta program. The company recently pushed out some changes like removing the ability to save profile pictures, night mode, redesigned emojis, and more. Now, noted WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo has spotted two more never-seen-before features in the latest beta update of the software.


3. Tor browser officially launched for Android - The Tor browser, run by the privacy-focused group The Tor Project, has finally released a stable build for its mobile variant. There has been talking about the impending launch of the Tor browser on Android has been around for a while, especially following the release of the Alpha build of the app in September 2018. Now, the stable build is finally live on the Google Play Store, and you can download it by clicking here.


4. Reliance Jio gains 9.4 million users - According to a new report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio was the only carrier to gain users during March, while every other telecom operator lost subscribers. Thanks to great offers and connectivity, users seem to be boarding the Jio train at a constant rate. The telco gained around 9.4 million users in the month of March 2019. This had a negative effect on the other two top telcos, Vodafone Idea, and Bharti Airtel. Both these operators lost about 30 million subscribers combined.


5. WhatsApp Status - WhatsApp has long been trying to bring ads onboard. The company revealed last year that it’ll introduce advertisements inside the Status tab in the form of stories, which will be similar to Instagram and Facebook Stories. Now, its parent company Facebook — at its ongoing Marketing Summit in Rotterdam, Netherlands — has revealed that it’ll bring ads to WhatsApp Status by the year 2020.

The sale will offer deals on five models and all the devices will be available online on Amazon India at discounted price. The sale is now live and will continue till February 18. 2. Samsung Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 next flash sale on February 19 - Samsung’s online only smartphones, Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20, will be up for another flash sale next week. The sale will take place at 12:00PM on Monday, February 19 on Amazon India and Samsung‘s online e-store. Customers planning to buy the Galaxy M20, will be able to purchase it for Rs 10,990 for the base 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. There is also a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 12,990. The cheaper Galaxy M10, on the other hand, costs Rs 7,990 for its 2GB/16GB configuration, and Rs 8,990 for the 3GB/32GB configuration.

Samsung Galaxy M30: The company may launch it in February for Rs 14,990 - After a successful launch of two industry-first Galaxy ‘M’ series smartphones in India in January, Samsung is gearing up to launch ‘M30‘ for a starting price of Rs 14,990 in February. Industry sources told IANS on Thursday that the sale of Galaxy ‘M30’ with a triple rear-camera system and a massive 5,000mAh battery will begin in the first week of March. Samsung will bring Super-AMOLED display with Infinity V styled notch to ‘M30’, making it a power-packed offering for young millennials in the country. Powered by latest Exynos 7904 processor, Galaxy ‘M30’ comes with 4GB RAM-64GB internal memory variant. The device is also likely to have a 6GB-128GB variant.Samsung India in January launched Galaxy ‘M20’ and ‘M10‘ smartphones at a starting price of Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,990 respectively to take on Xiaomi‘s budget “Redmi” series in the country. Galaxy ‘M20’ is priced at Rs 12,990 for the 4GB+64GB variant while the 3GB+32GB variant costs Rs 10,990. Galaxy ‘M10’ is priced at Rs 8,990 for the 3GB+32GB variant and Rs 7,990 for the 2GB+16GB.

Twitter is currently testing a new profile preview feature on iOS and Android - In an attempt to address the problem of following threaded conversations on its app, micro-blogging site Twitter is reportedly testing an overlay of profile preview that would enable users to see information of any person replying to their tweet-threads. Typically, Twitter does not automatically organize conversations in ways easy to dissect, hence, tweet threads become difficult to follow and users tend to get lost in confusion.
This feature, which would work within the threads as well as outside on the main feed, would show information of the replier including their Twitter bio, follower counts, and when they joined the service, The Verge reported on Wednesday. Users would also get options to jump to the full profile of the other users along with the standard share options – specifically tailored for the user’s profile.


5. Redmi Note 7 with 48-megapixel camera to launch in India on February 28 - Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 in China last month, and the highlight of the smartphone is its 48-megapixel rear camera, and affordable price tag. Debuting under Redmi sub-brand, the smartphone is all set to launch in India soon, and today the company has revealed its launch date. The Redmi Note 7 will make its way to the Indian shores on February 28. However, there is no word on whether it will be sold via Flipkart or Amazon India.

Google plans to include scrolling screenshots in Android R - Dave Burke, Google vice president of engineering for Android, mentioned today on Twitter that scrolling screenshots are “in the hopper” for Android R.Nothing is concrete, since Burke also said the Android team can “hopefully” implement scrolling screenshots in Android R. That said, Android software engineer Dan Sadler joined the thread and accepted Burke’s challenge.


2. Google Keep finally gets a dark mode, but it’s more of a ‘gray mode’ - According to Android website, Google is finally updating its Keep note-taking app with a dark mode. However, it’s not a true dark mode that makes use of an OLED display’s inky blacks.


3. Oppo is working on new rotating camera phone, patent filed. - Earlier we saw Oppo announcing the pop-up selfie shooter with Oppo F11 Pro. We saw brands like Samsung and Asus launching their first ever rotating and sliding camera phone with Galaxy A80 & Asus Zenfone 6. Now we have Oppo which is working on a similar rotating camera phone.


4. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone - A couple of months, Xiaomi’s Black Shark launched the Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone in China. It is also made available in selected European markets. As expected, the company is making its debut in the Indian market with the Black Shark 2. ASUS and Nubia are the only smartphone brands

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 - Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 10 in the next two or three months and once unveiled, the phone might look drastically different compared to the past Note series. As per sources close to Android Police, the Galaxy Note 10 will feature two fundamental changes — the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack and all physical buttons. Samsung's Galaxy Note line has often been seen as the go-to option for those who get a considerable amount of their work done on their phones. This was the reason why we've seen Samsung retain a number of features that have been removed from other flagships. This primarily points towards the inclusion of a headphone jack and expandable storage.


2. Google Maps getting new ‘speed limits’ - After running tests in the US and elsewhere, Google is rolling out speed limits and mobile radar locations in over 40 countries, including India, Engadget reported on Thursday. The search engine giant confirmed to TechCrunch that Maps would now let users see speed limits, speed cameras, and mobile speed cameras in more than 40 countries worldwide including the US, UK, Mexico, Russia, and Japan. As part of the new additions, the speed limit would appear in the bottom corner of Maps and the speed traps would show up as icons on the roads. The rollout is taking place on both Android and iOS. Android users will additionally be able to report mobile speed cameras and stationary cameras, while both iOS and Android users will be able to see those updates during their drive.


3. WhatsApp may soon discontinue the ability to save someone else's profile picture - WhatsApp is reportedly working on a few new features including improvements to the layout of the album, change in audio format, discontinuing the ability to save some other user's profile picture, and some general improvements to the app. These features, as reported by WABetaInfo, are part of the WhatsApp beta for iOS v2.19.60.26 update that was submitted through Apple's TestFlight Beta Program. You can also join the beta program to get early access to the features. Currently, these features are being tested and are expected to officially roll out to all iOS users in the next update. Their availability for Android users is currently unknown.


4. Sony Xperia F - Sony has ceased its smartphone operations in India, and most other regions, to focus on releasing phones in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Europe. The smartphone maker was rumored to be dropping its Xperia lineup and shift to a new series. However, a new report out of China suggests that the company might be working on a foldable phone called the Xperia F, which could be launched next year. This phone is said to adopt Samsung’s flexible OLED display technology with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which the company’s current flagship Xperia 1 smartphone features. Additionally, the handset is said to support 5G connectivity and the company is expected to announce the Xperia 2 smartphone next year.


5. Apple increases App Store Mobile Data Download Limit From 150MB to 200MB - Apple has finally increased the cellular data usage limit imposed on app downloads from the iOS App Store on iPhones and iPads. In place of the previous restriction of 150MB, iOS users can now download apps that are up to 200MB in file size. While this is a welcome move for many users, it still does not entirely resolve the issue of using data to download any heavy app or update, which can be a bit irksome at times.

1. Motorola One Vision launched - Motorola has launched the One Vision, its first smartphone with a 21:9 ultra-wide display, and Samsung-made Exynos processor. The Lenovo-owned smartphone maker launched the device at an event in Brazil, and it is expected to come to India soon. The One Vision is a mid-range smartphone running Android, and brings a number of changes that are a first for Motorola smartphone. With the One Vision, Motorola is preparing to challenge the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and even Google’s new Pixel 3a smartphones around the world.


2. Xiaomi Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi Y2 top 3 selling phones - A new market report by IDC for the 2019 Q1 has revealed that the top three smartphones to sell in India were all from Xiaomi. As per the report, the first smartphone in the list is the Redmi 6A, the second is the Redmi Note 6 Pro, and the third most sold device is the Xiaomi Redmi Y2. If you think this is all then think again as in the top 10 most selling smartphones in the market, seven are from Xiaomi. The three non-Xiaomi smartphones in the list include the Samsung Galaxy M20, Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, and the Vivo V15 Pro.


3. Realme phones will get 2 years of Android OS - Realme has already said that all its smartphones will get upgraded to the latest Android Pie operating system before the end of June. Now, Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth has asserted that Realme devices will receive two years of major Android OS updates, as well as monthly security patches. At the Realme X series launch event, the Chinese company also revealed that it will continue working on ColorOS skin to make it better by adding some features.


4. Asus Zenfone 6 renders leaked - Asus is gearing up to launch its latest Zenfone 6 smartphone today at an event in Valencia at 20:00 CEST, which is 11:30PM in India. One can even watch the live event on Asus‘ official YouTube channel. The company will also be posting live updates on its official Twitter handle. Now, ahead of the official launch, new renders of the Asus Zenfone 6 have surfaced online, revealing the design of the upcoming Asus phone.
If the leaked renders (by Roland Quandt) are to be believed, the Zenfone 6 will offer a notch-less display design and a swivel dual-camera setup. The leaked images show the phone with a big display with a slightly thick chin. Furthermore, the Zenfone 6 might not come with a selfie camera. The flip camera module will utilize the rear cameras for capturing selfies and videos.


5. OnePlus 7 Pro goes on sale today - OnePlus 7 Pro will go on sale for the first time today. The smartphone will be available for purchase via Amazon India at 12:00PM IST. But there’s a catch. The device will be available as part of Amazon’s early access program to Prime members only today. The regular sale for the device starts tomorrow. The OnePlus 7 Pro is the most expensive device from the company yet, and it has emerged as one of the most premium devices challenging the likes of Samsung and Apple in the Indian smartphone market.

1. Infinix S4 with 32MP selfie camera and triple rear shooters launched in India - As teased earlier, Infinix has expanded its range of smartphones in India with the launch of the Infinix S4. The brand’s latest offering has arrived as one of the most affordable handsets with a 32-megapixel selfie camera and three primary shooters at the rear. The phone was originally launched in Nigeria and some other markets a couple of weeks ago. In addition, Infinix has also launched the X Band 3, its first fitness tracker in the country.


2. Xiaomi plans to discontinue Redmi Note 7 in India with the launch of Redmi Note 7S - Xiaomi is planning to discontinue the Redmi Note 7 (review) smartphone in India after the launch of the Redmi Note 7S yesterday. The latter offers slightly upgraded features but is being offered in the same price range as the former. Thus, the Redmi Note 7 will be phased out, and it will not be available to buy in the country after a few days or when the remaining stock clears out. Notably, the Redmi Note 7 was launched in India just a little over two months ago. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the exact reason behind the discontinuation. Nokia 3.2 with Snapdragon 429 launched in India, priced at Rs 8,990 - HMD Global, the company responsible for Nokia-branded Android smartphones, has just launched a new device in the Indian market. This new device is the Nokia 3.2, which has been launched just two weeks after the launch of the Nokia 4.2. The Finnish company had initially revealed both the devices as part of its 2019 lineup at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 back in February.


4. TikTok owner ByteDance - Despite being in the news for the wrong reasons recently, TikTok's popularity in India continues to soar but parent company ByteDance isn't done yet. A report by Bloomberg reveals ByteDance is now readying a paid music service that will challenge the likes of Spotify and Apple Music in markets like India. While a report in April by the South China Morning Post did hint that ByteDance could be planning to enter the music streaming space soon, the new report expects the service to be introduced as a new app as early as this fall.


5. Huawei Ban in USA/ Google - Huawei has been one of the market leaders in the smartphone industry with their subbrand Honor also being one of the leaders in its price segment. Huawei, the parent company, was always targeted towards a premium segment, and Honor on the budget and midrange part. As we already know, Huawei is now a blacklisted company.

1. New Galaxy Note 10 Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 10 has already started leaking, and now, Benjamin Geskin has created a render of what the Note 10 might look like. According to the render, which has since been validated by noted Samsung leaker IceUniverse, Samsung will ditch the horizontally aligned rear-camera module that we saw with the Galaxy S10 series, for a vertically aligned rear camera module on the Note 10. The Galaxy Note 10 is rumored to come with a triple rear camera set up, with most likely a similar arrangement of lenses as what we saw with the Galaxy S10 and S10+, i.e., a primary wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens. 2. Google Play Store Redesign rolling out with bottom navigation bar - The new Material Theme Play Store redesign is now rolling out with version 15.1.24. The refreshed design updates the Play Store with a clean whitewashed theme and drops the green. You might remember we first covered this back in April when the new design was discovered from an APK teardown.Besides dropping all the green, it has also moved the navigation bar from the top to the bottom and removed the music category. No worries though, you can still browse music by opening it from the hamburger menu Some other immediate changes you'll notice include more rounded corners, a new font, and the new flat design that no longer uses a card interface, lines, or drop shadows.


3. Samsung Galaxy A80 rumored to launch in India on June 15 - The Samsung Galaxy A80 unveiled in April is yet to hit the shelves in the Indian market. But if the latest report is to be believed, we will see this smartphone make its debut in the sub-continent on June 15. Furthermore, the Galaxy A80 comes in lone 8GB/128GB configuration, but the report states that it will be available in two variants in India which will be priced at INR39,990 ($575) and INR44,990 ($647).

The renders seem to strike the right chord with some but fail to impress others, regardless Apple is set to take centre stage with its latest lineup. Amongst the many leaks that have yet to be confirmed, the latest reports point towards the removal of 3D Touch input. The 3D touch is a feature that the company introduced in its handsets back in the year 2015 that has made a recurring appearance since and is now receiving a rain check with the latest generation of iPhones.


5. Samsung Galaxy M40 - Samsung Galaxy M40 specifications have been leaked just days ahead of its formal launch in India. The new Samsung phone that is set to debut in the country on June 11 is reported to feature a 6.3-inch display and comes with up to 128GB of onboard storage. Samsung already confirmed that the Galaxy M40 will sport an Infinity-O Display. Gadgets 360 also recently revealed the price of the Galaxy M40 alongside mentioning the presence of a Snapdragon 675 SoC. The upcoming smartphone is expected to take on the likes of the Nokia 7.1 and Poco F1.
